Since 2015, Andy has been handling the Norwalk Warrior football schedule posters, senior banners and other senior related portraits. With the large number of football players and seniors, this page serves as an informational page for Senior parents to use to get started and what is needed to make sure everything is done on time and without any mishaps.
The information below provides much more detail on each event. These are the top priorities to get things started:
Contact Andy! Call, send email or text. See his contact info for details.
It's best to have 2 senior moms/parents and 1 junior mom/parent. Decide who this will be that can work directly with Andy. This is not huge time commitment. It will involve coordinating the picture events (help determine date/time), communication with players/parents and reviewing posters/banners for correctness.
Determine when Senior Night will be. Recently, this has been the first or second home football game. We need to know this so Senior Banners can be ready before then.
Find out when Johnson Photography will be onsite to take football pictures. Coach Patterson prefers that we use this same date for the team poster. Senior banners can be done separately.
Determine poster and banner designs. Design will need to be known before picture day. If you don't have any ideas or desire to figure this out, no worries. Andy will come up with a design.
12" x 18" poster on high-quality card stock with UV coating.
When taken? Usually the same day as when Johnson Photography takes individual and group pictures (but does not have to be this day). Check with the head coach on when this date will be. Usually this is early to mid-August.
What's needed?
Senior parent volunteer to help position the football players for team picture.
Communication on color of jerseys Seniors should wear with underclassmen wearing a different color jersey.
Design? Unless there is a specific request, Andy will create a unique and custom design that tries to implement the team's theme/slogan.
Cost? Andy will work with the Norwalk Schools District Office to get approval of the artwork. After approval, Andy will work with the Athletic Office and Head Coach to get a purchase order submitted.
No cost to parents since the football program is paying for the posters.
2' x 3' vinyl banner with a grommet in each corner. Andy will supply zip ties for hanging.
When taken? Due to Senior Night being held the first or second home game of the season, then banner pictures need to be taken in early to mid August. You will need to contact the head coach to know when the Seniors will have their jerseys. Generally speaking, the picture day needs to be at least 3 weeks before the senior night game (time needed to allow for design, production, review and printing).
What's needed?
List of all seniors with correct name spelling as it should be printed on the banner, their respective primary position and jersey number.
Communication to all Seniors regarding attire (jersey color, jeans).
Youth picture (optional). Andy will need parent's help to communicate this to seniors and parents. Pictures in electronic format can be emailed or sent as text to Andy (andy.gohawks@gmail.com). If photocopy exists, Andy will scan then return to coordinating parent.
On picture day, two parent volunteer(s) are needed to help coordinate the seniors for their banner picture. One volunteer to help take attendance, collect money and gather any youth pictures. The other volunteer to help get senior signatures, match with jersey number, verify primary position and check name spelling.
Who's gets a senior banner?
Any senior varsity player, JV player, manager or cheerleader.
Design? If parents have a particular design, let Andy know and he'll do his best to replicate it with a Norwalk Warrior touch. If parents don't have a design, Andy will come up with a unique design, often times coordinating with the schedule poster.
Cost? $35 per banner. See the Banners page for more information. It's best if players bring money (cash/check) the day of pictures or Venmo it to @Andy-Kreider.
Football Senior Banners have traditionally used the 2'x3' vinyl sized banner ($35 each).
Optional group pictures of all seniors and moms together printed on high quality photo paper with protective UV coating and luster finish.
When taken? Not at the same time as the Schedule Poster or Senior Banners. Usually, weekends or after practice (September) tends to work best. Senior mom will need to check the stadium calendar, coordinate and communicate a date and time.
Keep in mind, if we take pictures in late September or into October, the sun starts to set earlier and earlier.
What's needed? All the senior players and their mom(s), grandma(s), guardian(s) or other. Include senior Varsity and JV players along with any senior managers.
All players should be in the same color jersey. Determine how the moms will coordinate what they are wearing. Communicate to all Seniors and moms.
Design? Generally the moms will come up with a design/style they like and we'll mimic it the best we can. If the moms don't have a design, Andy will come up with one.
Cost? Generally, we just do one size (8x10) for the group picture. If you get much smaller, the seniors/moms get to be too small to see clearly.
8x10 is $9
Up to the coordinating senior mom on how to handle orders and payments. Ordering can either be taken the day of pictures or do online. Online orders can be done by individual parents and will be mailed directly to them; however, delivery charges will be incurred.
Optional portrait picture of each senior and his mom together printed on high quality photo paper with protective UV coating and luster finish.
When taken? Generally scheduled the same day as the 'Moms of Fall' picture.
What's needed? Include all Varsity and JV senior players as well as any senior managers.
